Pros

The pay is competitive. Great colleagues. Once a year get-together trip for a 5 days.

Cons

None of the pros are worth it. This place does a great job of selling the company to outsiders, but don't ignore the red flags and other reviews here. I'm only writing this for applicants to beware and save their mental health, because we all know management reads these and does nothing about them, simply dismissing any criticism, as always. Air Apps does some bizarre things, like hiring people for remote contract roles, only to ask them to be in-office every day one month later. A lot of people have been getting the "be in-office or quit" ultimatum. They just expect you to move to another city and country just like that. Decisions are made based on whims from the CEO and his opinions. No plan is followed through. You will be getting unfair metrics and KPIs. The company used to be great and everyone was remote, and it worked perfectly well. Then, with zero transparency, things just shifted to in-office (Lisbon or SF). The remote workers started getting fired, people were quitting every week, and most of the time we didn't even get a warning that they left. I lost count of how many times I went to send a message to someone on Slack only to find their account deactivated. They simply have no respect or transparency at any point. You don't matter in this company. A lot of contracts have some very suspicious clauses, some even bordering on illegal in some countries. You will not be appreciated for the effort you put in, and when you quit or get fired they will do it with the least amount of respect possible. The CEO's family all works there, basically: his dad is always in the office, his sister and her family are all hired—it's serious nepotism. Managers and Leads have no power or voice at all. Agree with the CEO or leave, that's it.

Pros

Some of the colleagues are nice people trying their best in a bad situation.

Cons

Please stay away from Air Apps. They do a great job of selling the company during the interview process. Everything looks amazing from the outside, like a modern, forward-thinking tech company. But the reality of working there is a total nightmare. It is nothing like what they promise you. The biggest problem is the leadership. Specifically the CEO, Filipe. He doesn't know how to manage people or a company. He constantly makes impulsive bad decisions that ruin everything we work on, and he refuses to listen to anyone else. Your voice is never heard here. It feels like there is zero focus on the company's well-being. The only thing that matters is his ego. There is a complete lack of integrity and honesty in how the place is run. Communication is non-existent. You are never told the full truth about what is going on. They even post fake job openings on LinkedIn just to make it look like the company is growing when they aren't actually hiring. The way employees are treated shows a total lack of respect. It actually borders on inhumanity. You are not treated like a person, just a resource to be used until you burn out. He has absolutely zero people skills and does not seem to care about how his chaos affects real people. Another huge red flag is the hypocrisy regarding remote work. This company used to be so proud to call themselves "fully remote" and used that to recruit us. Then they completely flipped the script and started forcing people to be in the office, or they would let you go. Working there took a massive toll on my mental health. It's not normal to work in an environment this toxic. There are plenty of companies that treat people with decency. This is not one of them. Stay away.

Looks good from the outside, but the reality is very different

Pros

• The people are genuinely great. Most colleagues are talented, supportive and easy to work with. • Salary is fine for Lisbon, but that’s honestly one of the very few positives left.

Cons

• The company talks a lot about flexibility, modern culture and being results-driven, but the reality is the complete opposite. Remote work was essentially taken away, we’re now expected to follow a strict 9–18 schedule, and everything feels heavily controlled. • The environment changed overnight. There’s a very clear sense of mistrust from leadership, to the point where they removed access to even basic Google Drive folders, which says everything about how little confidence they have in the team. • Most decisions are handed down as mandates, with no explanation and zero opportunity for discussion. When you ask “why?”, the answer is usually silence or something vague that doesn’t clarify anything. • The constant talk about “transparency” and “care for people” doesn’t match the day-to-day reality. It feels more like a PR message than something actually lived internally.
