Cultural disaster, company run only by the CEO

Pros

Interesting work and a company who want to go places. staff in general are very nice but just don't have ownership.

Cons

It's a total dictatorship, the CEO controls everything to point that director level staff have about as much decision making power as an automated chat bot. Recent CEO decisions are everyone has to be in the office in 4 days a week (after 3 years of total flexibility). this came as a surprise to the top level directors as well who weren't told until it was announced. People and culture is a joke. The person leading that in Australia has zero expertise in that area and has ended up there because of failing to lead engineering and then commercial acquisition. Good people in HR and commercial all quit due to this. turnover across the whole business is madness. people rarely last longer than a year. People just disappear without any reason. If you want to recreate living in China but within a western business where no team has the feeling of ownership and you're just a vessel for delivering work, where everyone thinks mentioning "winning culture" actually then makes a good culture please join this great business.

Pros

The work is super interesting and you will get to work with some really smart and talented people.

Cons

High staff turnover and low morale due to unprofessional and uninspiring senior leadership. The CEO/founder makes no effort to acknowledge or change the poor company culture. Renumeration is below market especially with a heavy workload.

Pros

Food & Fruit in the office

Cons

- Unqualified interviewers. There is no interview training and this means interviewers assess people with no guidance on how to do this ethically or accurately. - Unqualified Managers. People are recruited into roles leading a team but are given no training and have little to no experience. - Lack of diversity (lack of gender, ethnic and LGBTQ+ diversity) and no focus/care on improving this. - Demotivating and low energy culture. Not a lot of employees have joined over recent years and stayed for over 2 years (average employee tenure is less than 2 years). - Airwallex will pay you less than you are worth and will try to underpay you. - APAC and EMEA are essentially two completely different businesses. No knowledge sharing or working as a team. - Barely any employee benefits (other than standard holidays, laptop for work, etc).
