Pros

The Sydney office is very close knit team. Working in the people team, surrounded by great leaders and colleagues. Everyone is there to support each other. Feels great to be part of such a fast growing company that embraces AI in everything we do with support and budget

Cons

Exec team is very direct in nature/founder led (doesn't suit everyone)

Pros

Other than work in office, you can work from home

Cons

The work environment is extremely stressful with little emotional support. Training is surprisingly short, and you are expected to pick up tasks very quickly, seniors often provide guidance only once, and if you ask again for clarification, they may respond with impatience, rude tone, or a negative attitude. The atmosphere is cut-throat, making it difficult to thrive or feel supported. Lastly, overtime is frequent and often unpaid, with expectations to stay beyond official hours.

Thank you for your feedback. What you've described, particularly around how you were supported during onboarding and how senior colleagues responded to questions, is not acceptable and not the experience we want anyone to have at Airwallex. Our culture is collaborative, and teamwork is emphasized. We move fast and we set a high bar. That means pairing high expectations with real support, especially when people are still learning. On unpaid overtime: this is something we take very seriously. If hours beyond what's reasonable are being expected, or if work isn't being properly compensated, that needs to be surfaced and addressed. We'd ask that you or anyone experiencing this raise it directly with the People team so we can look into it. We'd like to hear more and make it right.
