good friendly team going through the same hell modern offices snacks and alcohol

Cons

below average pay no benefits no leadership from ceo and senior management all the good managers quit or are pushed out ceo yells at team members publicly no product or market strategy dont understand australian market expected to work 9-9-6 no work life balance relies on good pr instead of doing anything actually innovative secretive culture no respect for australian culture

Having been with Airwallex for over a year, it saddens me that you have written a review which in no way reflects all of the outstanding achievements made by both the team and individuals over this time. It also does not acknowledge the significant improvements we have made and continue to make across the business in process, technology, and company culture. Working in a fast-growing business like Airwallex presents daily challenges and I am proud of our team and how tirelessly they work together to build and improve great products. To say that we expect our Melbourne team to work 9-9-6 is false. If you have been advised that this is the expectation, please contact me and let me know who has set this expectation for you. If you or any other team member feels like they are going through hell working at Airwallex, then I suggest you raise this with a member of the leadership team so we can address specific concerns. Writing a review on Glassdoor is your right but it doesn’t enable us to fix anything when we do not have specific information to act upon. Ideally, I would like to personally hear from you so that we can work through these issues together. I would also again like to highlight that any member of the team that has been with us for more than a year has likely contributed to the delivery of great product, cultural change, and is in a position to positively impact the business into the future. Please take this opportunity and work with us to make Airwallex a better place to work.

It getting worst!

Pros

Kitchen food, new laptop, desk, chair, office location in city near water.

Cons

Many issue. I see company post fake review - push down real reviews Change mind all the time, dont know what to do? Politics grow alot. No supports new employee. No ethic in work - ask me to do anything Feel stress all the time. HR ask to post good review everywhere No good place to work, no engineerings culture, many people nasty Call mid night for work No good management.

Thank you for your feedback. Airwallex team members are invited to review us on Glassdoor, but at no time has HR or the Leadership Team specified that these reviews must be positive. We take reviews seriously and provide a number of mechanisms, including Glassdoor, to gather employee feedback so that we can identify areas for improvement across the business. The greatest challenge for us is that when serious concerns are raised, as you have listed that you feel stressed all the time and do not have support, we are unable to identify specific actions to resolve this unless you also raise these issues with your manager, HR Dept, or a member of the leadership team. Some of what you have written is part and parcel of joining a fast-paced business. We are required to change direction frequently, and sometimes pick up tasks outside of our role, and we acknowledge this is not easy for everyone. Please enable us to work with you to resolve your concerns by speaking with us. When we are able to identify an individual or a team which may be overloaded or requires additional support, we can then take the steps to work through these issues together.

Pros

Flat structure, lots of autonomy to own your work and take it in the direction you want, heaps of opportunity to grow beyond your role, well stocked pantry, great office location in the city, team mates are genuinely nice and helpful.

Cons

The fast pace, ambiguity and unpredictability that comes with any high growth startup may not be for everyone.
