Pros

This company has been a big part of my life for 20 years, and yesterday was my last day with them due to the need to move. They are VERY employee and customer driven which makes for a great career. Throughout my time with them, they taught me how to do the job right every time and how to make sure the company makes money from putting the customer first, regardless of the cost. There is no other company that still believes that this is how it should be done. They started me out as a service tech and groomed me into what I'd like to believe was one of the best in the business. I moved up to technical support and programming a few years later, which really helped me to expand my knowledge from learning from everyone else's issues in the field instead of just what I happened to run into. From there, I moved up to camera technician which was where I was able to hone my craft into something more than I could have ever expected from myself. I had no idea that I would move up to becoming the team leader of that very talented and special department. I was able to morph into a top notch system engineer and really get to play with the higher end systems that most don't even get to learn throughout a career elsewhere. From there, I relocated to become a manager for the company. The upper management was great through the process and was forthcoming with every bit of the expectations. They paid for the move and the support from the entire company, in this new position, was nothing short of amazing. I've been able to buy a few houses, enjoy having my wife home to raise the kids, and really have an enjoyable life for the past 20 years, and it's all due to this amazing company. They've grown me as much or more than I've grown myself, and for that I'll never be able to say thank you enough. If you're lucky enough to get to become part of this ADS family, you will have the same opportunities that they've given me to become a better tech, leader, and person.

Cons

The only con that I can see is that I can't stay with the company and work remotely.

You just don't find companies like ADS anymore.

Pros

ADS really hits the sweet-spot between a small and large company. It offers good benefits, competitive pay, and a professional environment. Still, it retains many of the qualities of its family-owned roots: friendly faces, reasonable expectations of company workers, and a good family/work-life balance. ADS treats its employees and customers with high ethical values, and is the kind of place you can be proud to work at. Finally, ADS is unique in that it is still a workplace where a person can earn a high paying/highly rewarding career straight out of high school. While ADS values college education, it is a company that is willing to invest in the training and development of people who, for whatever reason, did not attend college.

Cons

While ADS is making efforts to improve, it needs to get better at creating an environment where the company's many excellent employees are able to contribute to growth, change, and the direction of the company.

Pros

They care about their employees and their customers. They’re willing to work with employees to find advancement opportunities. They train their employees well.

Cons

The two branches sometimes have a hard time staying on the same page. Processes aren’t consistent across the whole company, and that can cause tension between departments that don’t work with the main branch and the departments that do.
