Pros

Experience is very relative to your department and team. Remote environment is the only firm pro I can think of. The Engineering team was always an absolute pleasure and is what I feel to be the only just, "normal" sector of the company. This sentiment stretches from Engineering Interns all the way to VPs of Engineering. Truly an excellent team.

Cons

Preface: I have no vendetta here and only leave this review to warn others. Also -- please be aware of so many positive reviews. Recruiting purposefully prompts new employees to leave Glassdoor reviews within 30 days of joining. It is an explicit, highly intentional strategy to avoid the (inevitable) poor reviews from seasoned Aledade employees. This comes from the mouth of the Dir of Recruiting and VP of HR. Worked here for almost two years. Watched the company grow from 300 to 1000+. If you are black, this is not the company for you. If you are young(er), this is not the company for you. If you are ambitious, this is not the company for you. I experienced micro-aggressive comments throughout the entirety of my employment with Aledade. One of my direct managers was also an old-fashioned racist. Similar to other reviews, hard work is rarely rewarded. Promotions are awful in quality and seemingly unattainable (in title and $$$$). I watched many deserving colleagues be passed up for promotions year after year and eventually leave the company. Management (across the board) is sheisty and the GenX majority sets an odd tone in the workplace. Very "pull-yourself-up-by-your-bootstraps" type of leadership group. A very disingenuous, forced family dynamic is also present. 80% of the departments and teams are rotten with leadership at the head. The "mission" is lost and Unless you have explicit conversations about your role, expectations, values, etc., with your direct manager AND you receive a competitive salary before accepting an offer, do not do it. I did not realize the severity of the toxicity until leaving. They will pay you well under-market, pile you with work (at all levels of seniority) and punish you for expressing even the slightest adverse opinion or being anything less than a submissive yes-man. You are not allowed any semblance of individuality here. I am only not rating Aledade as one star for my positive experiences working cross-functionally with Engineering and Product and my positive experiences with colleagues (not leadership) on my first team. Generally poor company. Avoid if you are black, young(er), ambitious to move your career forward, or not a cookie-cutter healthcare executive. Pretty abysmal experience. The bad memories heavily overshadow a few good memories. Also, they're very obviously prepping for an IPO, but the core of the business model is deeply, deeply, deeply flawed in concept and in execution.

Pros

Incredible culture and great flex work benefits. Company is missional and aligned in what it does to advance patient care and value based care. Fully understanding the implications of work requires a pretty deep understanding of the US health system and health policy, but Aledade is doing incredible work for a private public benefit cooperation.

Cons

Remote work can lead to only communicating with your direct team and feeling somewhat isolated from the larger organization, but Aledade does provide many opportunities to meet others. You just need to have some form of initiative to do this.
