Pros

Interesting projects. People are generally very nice and supportive. Good opportunity to learn different techniques. Good place for recent grads.

Cons

Getting promoted is based more on length of employment rather than performance. Job duties vary by team so some RAs work more than others. Compensation is lower than market rate due to it being a non-profit.

Pros

One off in the world to work on big science in neuroscience

Cons

Too many meetings. More politics to deal with than regular postdoc.
