      Amazing experience for future mental health professionals!

      Pros

      -participation in clinical meetings -training in therapeutic interventions -working with clients (while difficult at times) is very rewarding -this is a great place to start if you are considering earning a grad degree to enter the mental health field. My experience at Allendale helped me decide what route to take professionally.

      Cons

      -communication within the organization is often unclear or disorganized -understaffed, you may be asked to work overtime but the OT pay is great! -dangerous situations can and do arise with client’s behavior

      Pros

      Positive engagement with peers and upper supervisors. They notice the hard workers, and are always open to provide positive feedback. This is the work we signed up for especially if we went to school for any human services degree, so there should be no surprises. Trauma is ugly, but that is only one facet of the puzzle, and that is why we are here right? Benefits inside this agency and out are numerous.

      If you do not take the necessary days to rest and prepare yourself for the work day it can be challenging.
