Pros

Dream Job handing explosive detection canines

Cons

Everything else, bad hours, rude and unreasonable irresponsible upper management and scheduling is the worst of the bunch. Need to listen to handlers needs instead of just firing them as soon as they bring up a concern. I think it is important for them to keep a steady group of people on instead of just rehiring every chance they get because a person quits every single month.

Pros

Good Camaraderie and relationship with Peers, Immediate Supervisor and Clients, enjoyable to work/handle an Explosive Detection Canine.

Cons

Poor management of what could be a great company. In its current state, this is not an establishment where you can have a career. MSA is unfortunately a revolving door. Pay does not cover the cost of living and benefits are a joke. I could go on and on with the cons but other employees (Current & Former) have covered it in their comments. If you are considering this company as an option I would advise against it until they get their acts together. You will know positive changes have been made when the negative comments (Cons) are not the pattern that they are.

Deserves a negative review - Just Horrible To Work For

Pros

There are no pros to working at MSA. No one cares about you.

Cons

The Human Resources Department has the most unhelpful people employed. When you call no one in the department is willing to help you. The HR Dept is definitely not a HR Dept that is for the employees. I don't trust not one person in HR. The Scheduling Department can never get my time on the schedule so I have never been paid correctly since working for MSA; all I hear is that a payroll adjustment will be processed next payday. I just want to get one check that is correct. The only way I know I'm gonna get my money is to wait and call the poor lady in the Payroll Dept(who always seems to be there) to see if she got my adjustments. If she can she will at least try to get me a manual check. At least she answers the phone cause when I call to inquire about my stipend check the AP person never answers the phone. They tell me it's a lady but when the voicemail picks up its a man's voice.
