Pros
Worked for an amazing Physician assistant; who was dedicated to the care given to the patients. Good benefits, and competitive pay; (and for smaller towns outside of the metro to the west it makes a difference). Great training; lengthy but nice to be able to get all your CEU's and more if needed.
Cons
Management micromanages employees. "Word of mouth" is above proper investigation: meaning, an individual will get written up whether the incident took place or not based apon what an employee has stated to them. Management and Region HR lack strong communication skills and the ability to help lead and support; instead will 'judge' an individual's performance based on factual and non factual data. No consistency in both understanding policy and procedures and following the processes. Individual's in management positions without proper education such as masters degree in registered nursing and business management or lack if any college education. Lack of "team effort", when someone is struggling, they are repramand the individual instead of coached and supported. Very hostile and depressive environment. Lots of work to be done yet in areas of both budget ( that's for any non profit company in health care) and management: ie investigate the problem regions and look deeper into the staffing issues and losses and ask not one why? But 5 why's?
