Depending on where you live, the commute to Burlington, MA can be a killer

Totally inept management, with a bunch of people with "titles" who attend meeting after meeting just for the sake of having meetings. This is a company that is flying by the seat of it's pants. However well intentioned they may be, there seems to be no one in management who has a real understanding of this industry. There is no real concern for customer satisfaction as is evidenced in the poor training that is given to the new hires. There is also some real mean spirited-ness in the downtown Chicago office. There is a definite "color" issue among the staff who were not at all happy to welcome so many new people of color at one time. The condescending attitudes run rampant in an atmosphere that makes no attempt to hide disdain for anyone without blonde hair and blue eyes. It is also an inner circle environment and if you are not inside the circle, you will never move ahead. Allscripts is a new age sweat shop, with micro-managers who work hard to create the most oppressive plantation like conditions.
