Overworked and underappreciated

Pros

The pay is pretty adequate, and there are perks to working in the corporate office (snacks, catered lunches, team-building events). Meaningful work and a decent work environment. They will provide you with everything you need to get started and some time to learn. Center workers are down to earth and take pride in caring for the children.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations on project timelines. Given way too many projects at once and often needing to do other people's work. There is no regard for workers' other obligations outside of the workplace (family, other jobs, other interests). There is so much gossip throughout upper management and in the individual centers. Lots of turnover! Overbearing and micromanaging supervisors who care more about the numbers than about their actual employees can make the work environment extremely stressful at times.

Pros

Great people, good atmosphere, highly rewarding working with the kids, they do a good job with continuing education opportunities and review ABA techniques consistently.

Cons

Low pay, difficult to get time off, long days, minimal upward mobility without master’s level education.
