Leadership above store level is a nightmare
Pros
The best things about this company were the team I created and the beautiful stores.
Cons
Most management above the store leader role are uncommunicative, unethical, and just as depressed as they made us. DL made it unbearable to work there. I frequently was “encouraged” to work off the clock, work my team off the clock, and work 45hrs+ a week, despite using all my payroll and making my sales plan. As a punishment for poor numbers, I was not allowed to take two days off in a row without permission from DL, until my numbers improved. My DL told me that working 40hrs a week was the “bare minimum” and that I should “want to be in your business 7 days a week.” She had no interest in developing based off of peoples strengths, but rather forces her team to conforms to what she believes her best qualities are. I can’t recall a conversation where I didn’t leave feeling worthless, despite wins in my store. Unless it is related to equations and math, she does not teach. She condemns you for not knowing better. Any failings or shortcomings I shared only ended up coming back to hurt me in documentation or as an example of my ineptitude, further isolating me. My store turned around and began producing amazing numbers, but it did not matter. Unfortunately, she is either a product of her environment or her leadership is leaving her unchecked. Regardless, I would not recommend working for this company in any way. I used to think that only bad employees left negative reviews. Now I realize they were all honest warnings. Make sure you ask about their Store Leader turnover rate for one year.
