Pros

Great co-workers, had the best experiences while working! Lovely choice of vendors for clothing and jewelry - it's all fashionable and in trend - there will be at least some item in the store that WILL catch customer's eye! Nice discounts - getting 40-50% off merchandise was a plus!

Cons

Amount of hours put into the job can grow tiresome, seeming as I was working at a larger store I would not clock out until well after midnight. The salary is a bit low.

Pros

Altar'd State is a Christian based company, so I really love how there are crosses for sale, devotion books, and Bible verses around the store. The clothing is really cute and I am obsessed with the home accessories and candles! Employees get a 40% discount which is AMAZING and a 50% discount at Christmas. Altar'd State really shows they care about everyone who works for them. I love working here and it really is a great environment.

Cons

The only negative I can say is that sometimes it feels like the store changes too much at times. For example, I am all for re-doing everything when new shipment comes in, but this often involves also moving tables, rugs, chairs and changing shelving units. This would be fine on occasion, but every time the store gets a "face-lift" we have to change all of the sections, all of the shelving units and switch where everything is located. For example, instead of putting new shipment out in the romantic section and making it look new, fresh and beautiful, we have to first but romantic where bohemian was and bohemian where modern was and modern where the second bohemian was. This does not make much sense to me. I was in the store for an 11-3 shift one day, and then came back at 10 the same evening and was working until 9:30 the next morning because of this. The reason I had to stay the whole night is because pictures were due to corporate by 8 in the morning.

Pros

Lots of room to be creative, opportunities to be social with coworkers and customers, amazing employee discount, 50% your first two weeks and then 40% after that!

Cons

Very low pay, not as much a christian environment as I had previously thought. With the discount clothes are affordable but without they're very outrageously priced, you can find the same article of clothing for a much lower price from other stores occasionally.
