Just like a nonprofit or a school district, they use your love of helping others to make you feel guilty into taking less pay for way too much work.

Thank you for taking time to share your feedback. Our current starting pay rates for part time positions in Altar'd State are $16/hr. for Brand Reps and $20/hr. for Guest Leads (Keyholders). Our full time Assistant Store Leaders at Altar'd State start at $28.85/hr. and our Store Leaders start at $80,000 annually. Pros

Pay was ok for retail (see below). 50% off clothes, 60% off during first month. Very guest focused, so it was easy to give guests literally whatever they wanted to be happy.

Cons

every single bad review you read about no work life balance, late nights, SECRET SHOPS!! etc. is true. Company pushes doing good for others, but same grace and respect is not shown towards employees. Pay was okay, but job is extremely stressful (and the job is literally selling clothes...) part time management employees accrue time-off DISGUSTINGLY slow. Managers told they are not permitted to take two days off in a row, 4-6 managers work for ONE store, and are only permitted one weekend off a month.

The won’t promote you You will be led on about a promotion Higher ups will fail you You are expected to let customers walk all over you The hospitality you are made to show to customers higher ups don’t show to you They will pay you low and pay someone newer higher They will promote new people with less experience and promos to promote you They dog walk their managers and treat them terribly even yelling at them Which lead to them treating you worse The new uniform that customers hate You are expected to meet unrealistic sales goal on slow day You will leave that store stresses and angry every day You will close the store one night and be expected to open the next day
