Pros

The people and the work life balance makes it a great place to work. The tech stack is Angular2+ and Java for most teams. This can be either a pro or con depending on what you're looking for. But this is definitely industry standard, especially in the B'ham market.

Cons

The pay will not be as competitive for software developers/engineers as it would be if you work for a tech company, or a company where software is the profit-center. Here, software primarily supports the business rather than makes the business.
