      My dept is a cost center and is heavily scrutinized for budget despite other departments wild spending and reliant on our groups resources.

      Pros

      The majority of colleagues are willing to help their peers. There are opportunities for employees to learn and grow their careers. Most leaders are supportive and caring. The work/life balance is good.

      Cons

      Some (not many) employees lack professional maturity and unfortunately are not receptive to feedback, resorting instead to lobbying complaints with only half of the information about situations. Some (not all) employees complain about the hybrid schedule (3 days in office, two days remote).
