Pros

High level of autonomy as long as you report progress on projects. Good work/life balance outside of harvest time. Small teams make for easier communication. There's no lack for something to work on or improve. 401(k) matching is awesome! Management is always ready to listen.

Cons

Vacation accrual for new employees is small. Lack of direction on some projects can be frustrating. There's a slight disconnection between the operations, agriculture, and applications departments.

I worked for two different beet dumps during harvest season. The pay is great and the support from supervisors is ok

Cons

Very long hours and some heavy lifting. Work in all weather conditions, including rain, snow and super cold weather.
