Pros

The process of picking up and delivering was pretty easy. The workers at the station were great!

Cons

You can’t call and talk to Amazon flex support. Only contact is through email. Every time you reach out or respond to a email another representative responds. This in return is HELL!! SO much back and forth and waiting FOREVER on responses! They also from the beginning had system issues and before figuring out if it’s correct they would come to you the driver and “warn” you. Wouldn’t be any believing you either once you tried to correct them, until you had screenshots or the manager reach out to them. This happened with play, missing or canceled blocks, packages, and etc. You basically have to fight to get paid. I had to screenshot my shift, when I started, and when I was on my last package, to make sure I had evidence that I worked and completed the block to get paid. This happened numerous times. And a lot of ppl at my station had the same issues! I recently got terminated because they say I missed another block that I worked and completed. They even paid me for it when it was supposed to be paid. This one time I did not screenshot my start and end and say I didn’t work it. Not sure how or why they would pay me for it on schedule if I “DIDNT” but yeah I’m over the stress with them. It’s not work it!

Poor Management

Pros

The job scheduling is flexible.

Cons

Extremely poor management. I was making deliveries to an apartment complex that was very difficult to navigate through. The buildings had no precise order numbers. In addition, the geolocation for the delivery addresses on the Amazon Flex app were incorrect. I called the customers for help. After each phone call, I called Driver Support to update the geolocation to ensure that any future delivery drivers would not go through what I was going through, and most importantly, so that the customers would receive their packages on time. Asking around for guidance, several individuals mentioned that they were afraid to order packages because they were never delivered correctly. That is lost business. I made it a point to update every delivery that I made. After my shift was over, I returned the remaining packages. Driver Support is not available to drivers after a certain time. As an Amazon Flex driver, you do not have the ability to update the geolocation of a delivery. If this was possible, I would have stayed and continued to make the deliveries. I received a Policy Violation for "Unattempted Deliveries." This came as a shock to me, given that I was one of the few that tried completing deliveries or even attempted to call according to one of the customers. To say that I did not attempt to deliver the packages, when all of my actions and the customers themselves say otherwise, is an extremely poor lack of judgement and shows a disconnect between management and the customers themselves. If you have integrity and value your work ethic, do not work for Amazon Flex. This is NOT a reflection of the people that work in the warehouses, because they are amazing people. This is a direct reflection of the Amazon Flex Support employees and their management. I repeat, if you are a hard worker, and genuinely love to give everything your all, do not work for this company. They do not value those that go above and beyond.

Pros

I enjoyed the flexibility. In San Francisco I was able to make good money for a part time gig. I liked being able to cancel gigs up to three hours before the shift.

Cons

Working in San Francisco it was very difficult to find parking for deliveries many of the times. The inevitable parking tickets sometimes felt as though they were outpacing the income. Also, the algorithm tracking performance seemed to make no allowance for sending me into highly congested areas or times of days. The worst were days when major events in downtown San Francisco effectively shut down all traffic through downtown.
