      I worked in Amdocs for 2.5 years in the IT Service Desk, providing PC/NT support to company employees

      Pros

      It was my first place of employment, we had a team of young enthusiastic people, it was nice experience to work there and the overall atmosphere was good Salary was not bad (since i was only starting my way in the IT world after my military service)

      Cons

      After couple of years i really didnt have somewhere to progress in the IT field.. i was suggested to transfer to Testing or QA teams but i didnt wanted, and basically this is why i left this company also there were no salary raises there (although i had very high scores in the evaluation processes)

      Pros

      Amdocs (Cyprus) - Provides excellent benefits to employees like subsidized lunch, free snacks for breakfast, one time air plane ticket for a year to visit your home, medical care, school fees for children etc. But the base salary is very low compared to standard of living in Cyprus, but if you add the benefits it could account not bad salary, but still i would not say they provide good salary. My managers were very good, friendly and nobody spoon feeds you, and neither monitors you like a rude boss. Good company to work with if you do not have passion towards programming and technical aspects, and yet relax and enjoy your life like in honeymoon.

      Cons

      I was lucky to get into technically sound projects which were started from scratch and was given full freedom to develop the application from end to end. Whereas this is not the case for majority of people, if you work in C projects you will forget C, if you work in C++ you will forget C++, if you work in Java you will forget Java, surprisingly this is the real truth. Most of the programming style and projects are proprietary to Amdocs, once you get out and want to get job discarding Amdocs and its clients, its very difficult because you forget the programing languages. only thing we gain is business knowledge which is useless if you are trying to get job outside this particular domain. In short you will be outdated and isolated if you do not take care of yourself personally to learn up to date market technologies and tools. It depends on people priorities and personal interests. Do not join this company if you are tech savvy.
