Pros

Still a remote company with leadership in the process of transitioning from a small company to a mi-side corporation. Great opportunity to start with a growing company.

Cons

Growing pains as the company moves from a small company mentality to a mid-size company, with all the resulting policies, procedures, documentation, and structure.

Pros

I have been with AAS for 9 months now and never have I been a part of such a tight knit team. I was a contractor for a government organization for 15 years and I am closer to my co-workers now, even in a remote environment, than my previous role. The way everybody has each others back and builds each other up is amazing. There is also a great opportunity for advancement in the company and the compensation is good.

Cons

Your salary includes a quarterly bonus when you are offered the position though you are not eligible for the bonus for almost a year depending on your start date. The waiting period should be disclosed when the offer letter is given.

Thank you for your feedback! Transitioning to a remote work environment has not been without challenges, however, staying connected with each other remains a top priority for the entire company. Our employee engagement team is launching some exciting new initiatives in the upcoming months. We love that you are part of such a tight knit team. We value your feedback regarding our short term incentive program. We’ll be sure to share your feedback with our People Services Leadership Team. We also see amazing things on the horizon here at American Auto Shield.

Pros

My experience at American Auto Shield has been neutral. I love the remote work environment and really enjoy what I do. The president seems like a great guy, my coworkers are wonderful and I love that I get to work with a great team of people.

Cons

The biggest issue for me is how disorganized things have been. The company is experiencing tremendous growth and it’s been a complete whirlwind for me since day one. Things have been disorderly since the day I started working for the company and it's hasn't slowed down. It's a 20 year old company but it feels like a startup. I really love that they are invested in my success and want me to succeed, but my manager can be too involved that it feels like there’s a lack of faith and trust in my ability to complete tasks on my own. This is the first time I've ever experienced anything like this in my career and it's very frustrating and discouraging.

We have experienced significant growth over the past year, and you are right, there are some growing pains that come along with the growth. We’re doing our best to work through these growing pains and ensure all of our employees are setup for success. I’ll be sharing your feedback with our VP of People Services. I would also like to encourage you to take advantage of our open door policy and start an open dialogue with your Manager. Again, we are always looking for ways to enhance and improve.
