Slowly disintegrating

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

-Excellent PTO plan -Great coworkers and front-line to mid-level leadership

Cons

The company is slowly wasting away. Morale is terrible, there is no clear sense of direction, and everyone feels lost. Fear has gripped the majority of the workforce, with the frequent layoffs and cuts causing people to not know if they or their department will be next. The company has hemorrhaged good people over the last several years due to this, and will continue to do so.

don't work here

Pros

used to be a great company

Cons

It sucks working here since they got bought out, so I'm looking for other jobs. They don't value employees anymore, keep finding ways to cut costs/ lay off people. Supposedly they are making more money than ever, but it doesn't trickle down.

Horrible exploitative culture

Pros

Was remote work for part of my time working there

Cons

Company promised we would never have to return to office and then rescinded their word, made everyone return to office full time Pay is way below industry standard and the raises were not even in keeping with inflation Promotional practices were completely biased to the point they wouldn't even allow qualified candidates to interview because they had already chosen who was getting the job before even posting it Supervisors will tell you to your face they will advocate for you to higher ups and then completely go back on their word You will beg for opportunities to learn more skills and be told no at every turn even when your numbers/quality of your work is above what is expected My supervisor would constantly tell my team to do things one way and then reprimand us for doing what she said after conveniently "forgetting" she was the one who told us to do it (never wrote anything down so was constantly forgetting things she changed) Same sup also told me to my face twice that it was my job to "do what the people above me don't feel like doing" which is completely insulting and untrue, associates have our OWN jobs and it's not our job to pick up others' slack when they're being negligent. It's one thing to catch someone's mistake and it's another to be expected to do things that are someone else's responsibility that they willfully don't do because everyone above you has a "the associates will do it" attitude that they get away with. I was given "meets expectations" on my yearly review and I asked what I could have done differently to get "exceeds expectations" and was told, "I don't have an answer for you, just keep doing what you're doing." I asked what I can do differently to get "exceeds" next year and was told "just repeat what you did this year." Okay... so why wasn't I given "exceeds expectations" this year if doing the exact same thing will magically get me "exceeds" next year? Just constant dangling of a carrot you will never get, and on top of that higher ups used to conduct virtual meetings from their cars WHILE DRIVING as if they didn't care at all. CEO has said some absolutely atrocious things about remote work as well. Overall associates are treated like dirt and paid even worse. This company has been hemorrhaging good employees for two years now, especially the higher ups. People who have been at this company for 10-20 years have been leaving in droves over the past two years and the culture is the reason.
