      Pros

      Better benefits, as far as insurance, and PTO. They do like to remodel their buildings, and update staff training timely.

      Cons

      Very minimal staffing (as far as nursing) in their facilities with no overtime allowed. The nurse/patient ratio is very high. Poor communication between the company consultants and their buildings, and among the consultants themselves, causing a great deal of confusion and misunderstandings for many. Be aware that therapy is the focus for this company, not the nursing dept- which depending on your own focus, may be good or bad.

      Pros

      American Senior Communities pays roughly the same as other nursing homes in the area with average health insurance. They have a large number (40+) locations at which to work.

      Cons

      They understaff in both nurses and aides so there is constant stress and high turnover. If management doesn't like you, they'll find something for which to fire you.
