      Pros

      A decent small business culture . The company has a lot of potential but just does not seem to anxious to grow organically.

      Cons

      HR is not very knowledgeable or reactive . It appears they work under no leadership or guidance . They are completely disorganized and do not understand the Government contracting industry. Company seems complacent and still seems to grow by being a subcontractor versus a PRIME. If it were not for the Test and Evaluation group, American Systems would probably only have one or two prime contracts total. Company has no real growth strategy except to acquire other businesses since they can not win large contracts.

      Pros

      Very flexible work schedule. Compensation was National average. Great culture. Strong accounting team.

      Cons

      lack skills that are pertaining to key management skills. Lack of training and lack of career growth. Communication is a big issue. If you want a career that is stagnant and complacent this is the perfect place. Overall the company has a great culture and nice people. However, they need to invest in a new management structure or team, if they want to be able to retain talent and stay competitive for the future. My advise, look for a better opportunity somewhere else.

      Pros

      Great company that will open new opportunities within and outside of the company. Managers are very good at getting to know their employees and are easily approachable.

      Cons

      Government contractor. Just like any government contract, job security will always be a concern. For the most part they will work with you and assist in placing you with other contracting positions available.
