      Pros

      Benefits & long-term opportunity. One of the biggest and still most stable names in biotechnology. Outstanding benefits, especially bonuses, 401k, and generous tuition reimbursement. Brilliant co-workers and collaborative environment. Solid drug pipeline. Products have significant impact and it is thoroughly satisfying to be contributing to what the company is accomplishing. Extensive track record of dramatically improving thousands of lives in an array of disease categories.

      Cons

      Current uncertainty in ESA franchise, few promotion opportunities available until stability returns (though every other form of career advancement is available). Significant job nesting.

      Pros

      Benefits, the good people who are present, and the great campus perks. They can also be quite flexible when they want to be, which is really helpful.

      Cons

      The venal people who are predominant, competitive culture, hypocrisy. If you work for someone who is winning the internal political fight, watch out. I've never been treated so shabbily in a corporate environment. What's really heartbreaking, confusing, and ultimately dysfunctional is that there is so much that is good and that the hype is first class, so it can take awhile to figure things out. The crash is very hard.
