      Pros

      Overall benefits packages, excellent 401K, paid shutdowns.

      Cons

      Extremely political organization. The only people who get promoted are people who talk the talk; actual skills and delivery do not matter. Most leaders from director level and higher only care about how they are viewed by their superiors and do not make an effort to support the team that makes them successful. Amgen tries to foster a culture of constant work and reserves work life balance only for shutdowns. Doing your job well and being the best on your team is not enough here either. You're expected to navigate corporate politics to meet expectations. That includes outside of work, as well as in the workplace. Many jobs are actively being transitioned to India and supplemented with AI. Workers are expected to train their counterparts in India while also maintaining their (over-allocated) workload.

      Pros

      Health benefits are ok but 401k isn’t great

      Cons

      Working on weekends now is expected. With no heads up, no compensation, and when we pushed back, retaliation is real.

      Benefits, food and sports which is nice for some employees

      Cons

      The people are great but the management needs a lot of training. They move up people who are very untrained managers and then go through lawsuits. Don’t even work with HR. They are always on company’s side. My suggestion before going to HR is to lawyer up.
