Pros

For starters, not an evil insurance company. They take great care of their customers and employees. I didn't know insurance companies could be fair, even generous. We've gotten multiple raises and bonus in the last year. The benefit package is competitive and they are constantly finding new ways to improve it. There has been a focus on mental health this year and they adjusted benefits to make it it more affordable. They pay for licensing tests and materials. Initial training is about a month (varies by dept) with regular additional training. Management support is the best I've ever experienced. Opportunities to move up are there with additional licensing and training. They added travel expenses to our health plan if a medical procedure isn't legal in our state. They even made sure we had a place for our preferred pronouns so no one is mis-gendered. Those things matter to me. They aren't political but want to make sure everyone feels included.

Cons

This is a very risk averse company. You have to be able to keep your mouth shut a lot when talking to customers so you don't go into territory you shouldn't. The KPI goals are difficult for most people to meet, it takes a lot of work and time. As long as you show you're trying they seem too be understanding. Definitely a buttoned-up East coast environment. But you can wear nice jeans, colored hair and tattoos uncovered for most positions. Those are recent dress-code changes that I appreciate. Never ever bring up politics at the office. Follow the chain of command.
