Pros

*Some of the coworkers were great people (but some people were also super catty) *Decent benefits *Occasional catered lunches

Cons

*The managers are hired straight out of college and put through Amica's training, yet they have little to no real world management training - which makes it hard to take them seriously. Some of the reps in my office had been in the insurance business longer than they had been alive. Managers knew this and would go on power trips to show their superiority. *They would not give me the day after Christmas off, even though I asked months in advance AND was the only person whose family wasn't local. *I disclosed to my boss that I broke up with my boyfriend (it was an abusive relationship) and that I needed to move back home (4 hours away). She acted totally supportive and we even discussed possibly having me try to transfer to the office near my parents house. The next day she fired me. JEEZ, THANKS.

Pros

Good benefits. Decent pay. Amica treats customers well, although premiums are extremely exorbitant. There are also some very caring and professional claims representatives, however, there are some who should be in another field as they do not care about people.

Cons

Unreasonable workload. Incompetent supervisors. Extreme micro management. As stated above, their insurance premiums are excessively high and unfortunately, there are some claims representatives who are uncaring and very unprofessional.

Pros

Decent pay, lots of benefits, gets you licensed, good amount of days off (you will need them). The East Coast is very familiar with the company.

Cons

This was the worst experience of my life. Marketing is way off. The product is elitist then they expect the sales rep to actually sell the policy that is 3 times the price of what the customer has currently. They purposely bully you and sabotage your work. My files would get bounced around for up to 2 weeks, and then I was reprimanded for it. They will follow you into the bathroom, ask you what is wrong and then you will find that conversation in a reprimand "write-up" a year later when they are trying to get you to quit before they hand out the yearly bonus checks. I was encouraged 3 times to use their EAP system and go see a therapist, then asked my diagnosis and then that was held over my head. You will beg for them to take you to the parking lot and beat you as that is so much more reasonable than the emotional bullying they subject you to. A dress code that is so archaic, I thought my manager was going to have a heart attack the day I dared wear a coat that had a hood on it. It was January and in the 40's.
