Pros

Finanacially stable company. Great benefits including holidays, vacation time and health/dental mostly paid for Ind/fam...401K sharing, pension that may or may not be there in 20-30 years (don't want to count on that) Fairly flexible for time off, depending on staffing needs. Good work atmosphere, great co workers. In the time I've been with the company I have never once thought "I really don't want to go to work today" as I have before with poorly run companies.

Cons

When I first interviewed, I enjoyed the interview, however I wasn't given a clear idea of how 'bonuses' or commissions were paid. I wanted to know the bottom line of what I could expect if I worked hard. After a few weeks of not knowing, past the base salary and benefits, how I could increase my pay with bonuses, I was finally given the information. It was disappointing. I have learned and will continue to learn how to create my own opportunities, as my salary total needs to increase by about $15k. It will take hard work just like it would at any other job.

Pros

Good pension plan, 401K matching, decent health care options, 35 hour work week

Cons

In the department I am in there is no opportunity to advance, and it seems like transferring to a different department is rather difficult. In all other departments you can post out for other job openings within the company after one year, but in the call center where I am they make you wait three yrs because of the high turnover. I have been with the company for 6 years and moved from a representative on the phone to a trainer, and team leader, but have not been compensated for it. It's been almost a year since I started this new position.
