Pros

Amica has fantastic medical, 401K, LTD, Maternity benefits and the members are fantastic!

Cons

Management, management, management. These are often times young people with varying degrees that truly don't know how to manage let alone anything about customer service. While I respect the managers at this company, when help is needed it is often not provided until you find the one manager willing to take on all the problems and miscommunication. Another HUGE con is time off. At the service centers you earn time for working holidays which helps but if you are dedicated to your family this is a struggle picking and choosing which holidays to work in order to have enough time to make it through a year and be there when your kids are sick, or if you are sick. If you want to plan a long vacation you truly have to plan it out awhile in advance because there just isn't enough time to take a true family vacation at this company without spending your entire years worth in one swift motion (that is until you've been there 10 years or so.) Please increase time off, we already have a stressful job and not a lot of assistance.

Thank you for your review. At Amica, we believe strongly in our promote-from-within philosophy, as we always prioritize the strengths and abilities of our current employees. When we do hire outside employees, particularly ones with varying degrees, it is our process to provide extensive training for them to ensure that they have all the information they need to work within their department. Initial and ongoing training for our entire staff is critical to meeting our service expectations. Regarding your concerns about time off – given that our service centers are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we understand that scheduling time off can sometimes require planning in advance. Our extensive benefits package does include vacation time, among other ways to help you schedule time out of the office when you need it. While you expressed concern about providing feedback to us directly, we do take the concerns of our employees very seriously and we’d like to at least offer you the opportunity of having a discussion with us. If you’re interested, please feel free to email us at employeefeedback@amica.com so we can get in touch with you about these concerns and better understand and address your comments about management. Thank you.

Pros

The benefits are about the only decent thing at the company

Cons

Doesn't follow laws. By this I mean brings disciplinary actions against persons whose disability causes performance less than that of others. Company did not provide accommodations for disability when asked. Company said they would stop bullying but did not. When I said I had to quit but preferred the situation be fixed and my job given back the company refused.
