Pros

Inbound calls nice peers to work with

Cons

even if you have a college education Company would rather hire someone with no real life experience, never owning a home, and no insurance background than promote its own hard working people - if you are over 40 you can forget about getting promoted you are way too old

Thank you for your review. At our company, we promote based on ability, leadership and the desire to take on new challenges and responsibilities. We greatly value our promote-from-within philosophy, and we combine this philosophy with the hiring of college graduates in order to complement our employees; college graduates help to give different perspectives and career aspirations, especially when it comes to our leadership team. We’ve recently updated our career lattice to provide greater opportunities to our employees. If you’re interested in a new position at our company, we welcome you to speak with your manager or email employeefeedback@amica.com to discuss opportunities. Thank you.

Pros

I have worked for Amica Life for 3 years. The pay is good; a base pay is given with bonuses paying about 40%+ of your total pay. Sales targets are manageable and the supervisors are amazing. This is the entry level job you get so that you can get promoted into other parts of the company for a long term career.

Cons

To get a promotion into another part of the company, plan to work this job 2+ years, so come in loving sales. You will feel like it's a rat race to get bonuses, which sometimes just don't pay what you were hoping for. You will make decent money here, but don't expect six figures.

Thank you for your review and recommendation for our company as well as the feedback you provided regarding promotions and pay. Regarding your comments about compensation – we regularly review market data to ensure that our total rewards package is competitive in the industry, creating a balance between pay and benefits. Also, please know that while your promotional eligibility is not hindered if you stay within a department, some of our departments do have a minimum service expectation before you post out. If you’d like to speak with us about your review or concerns in further detail, please feel free to reach out to us at employeefeedback@amica.com as we’d be happy to have someone get in touch with you to discuss. Thank you.

Pros

Get a gift box after birth of a child

Cons

Bait and Switch. They will tell you you only have to work a Saturday or two and then ask for more while giving the impression if you do not choose your days, they will choose for you. In terms of benefits they are always 10 steps behind all other companies in offering benefits. If you want to be a manager be ready to move every 2 years.

Thank you for your review. When it comes to coverage on weekends, managers may request volunteers when the call volume is high to provide the needed service for our customers. Regarding your concerns about benefits, we’ve designed our total rewards package to provide a balance between pay and benefits. If you’d like to discuss these concerns with us in further detail, please email us at employeefeedback@amica.com with additional details as we’d be happy to address them with you directly. Thank you.
