      A decent intro level employment for insurance.

      Pros

      In my almost 2 years of working for Amica I have found myself settled into my role here rather well, it does take some time to get acclimated to things and adjust to new emerging phone calls or work flow changes, I think management understands that fairly well and will work with you on your hurdles as you progress with time.

      Cons

      Regarding workflow changes I do feel that there have been several changes within the company that have driven a lot of hard working employees away, whether that be the life referral goal of now being 2 per month or losing both work from home days, what about fully remote reps? What is the mandate for them? or now the two hour down time (3:00-5:00) to work on assigned activities is no longer part of our work day but rather an hour of assigned off queue time and if you get a call that cuts into that off queue time, you don’t get it back. That time away from the phone is important to us especially in utility due to calls being a lot more in depth, lastly the board system having both East and West service centers is not fair or practical since we are on two different time zones. I think Amica should take these into consideration as constructive criticism

      Survived a front line claims career at Amica. I deserve a medal, but will enjoy my pension instead

      Pros

      Financially solid company, you will never be laid off. Nice people. Management can be great, like any company it is a crap shoot. Had a terrible boss, a great boss and a mediocre boss over the course of my 30 year career.

      Cons

      Claims adjusting position is rough work level wise, I had a lot of 70+ hour weeks. I've been retired for awhile now, currently working as an independent adjuster. If I handled the volume of work as an IA that I handled at Amica I'd be making about 250K a year. I don't work that hard anymore as life is too short. Spent 30 years there and have been on a pension for awhile now. I would have left earlier if not for the no longer available golden handcuffs though.

      Amica used to be a great company

      Cons

      Amica is now just a mediocre, small company that is steadily losing customers. Senior management is overpaid. Young employees have no future. DEI policies are hurting Amica.
