Pros

A few folks here are great.

Cons

I worked at this company for a significant period, and it's safe to say it was the worst professional experience of my life. The leadership team is completely out of touch with reality. They consistently set unrealistic expectations for their employees and, more frustratingly, seem to pick and choose who they hold accountable for meeting these expectations. I have never worked at company where the CEO and COO belittle you publicly even when they are in the wrong. The lack of transparency and fairness in this organization is disheartening. It's not just about poor management; it's about a complete disregard for the well-being and success of their employees. It's disheartening to see such potential wasted due to the ineptitude of those at the top. I strongly advise anyone considering working here to think twice. This company's practices are not only detrimental to its employees but also, I believe, potentially damaging to the clients it serves. Companies looking to utilize their services should reconsider their choices, as they might find themselves entangled in a web of incompetence and poor decision-making. In summary, avoid this place at all costs. It's a recipe for disappointment and frustration, both for employees and clients. You will not grow here professionally.

Pros

Amida is the place for you, if you: 1. Thrive in dysfunction 2. Like to be berated in public by the CEO 3. Like to spend your time telling the CEO how amazing he is 4. Like the CEO coercing you to buy his wife's pottery 5. Like the CEO calling you on evenings and weekends with fabricated crisis 6. Being micromanaged from the highest level and then blamed when things don't turn out well because you were directed to go down the wrong road 7. Like to be talked about behind your back and coerced to gossip on your fellow employees 8. Like to find yourself in very awkward conversations with the CEO on very personal issues that are none of his business 9. Like to work in environments where blind loyalty is expected by you but not reciprocated 10. Want to spend a lot of time beating yourself up about being so stupid in taking the job at Amida in the first place even after reading the Glassdoor reviews,

Cons

The CEO is the problem with the company. As long as Peter Levin remains in the position, you should consider other employment options. A lot of good people have left the company solely because of him. I am actively seeking employment elsewhere as no amount of money is worth being part of this nightmare.

Pros

If I say the snacks is that cliche?

Cons

I echo what so many other reviews have put: this is a DC chop shop zombie-corporation going by with little board oversight, employee apathy and/or fear of the CEO, and a nightmarish obsession with "details matter" on everything from the margins of your powerpoint deck to tiny typos in your emails. There are/were so many deserving and brilliant people at this company, the fact that money is going to this company and this CEO instead of each of the talented people I worked with (who would be much wiser to start a company of their own) is completely backwards. The level of meticulousness seeps into the employees to the point where everything became a joke: management of the office was lazy, HR was ignorant to the root causes or too scared to say anything to management (actually they sometimes went out of their way to shield and hide employees from the CEO, which should tell you enough that they're not confronting the real issue here), and the corporate events that used to be fun when the company was smaller became so forced that a lot of people stopped going. I watched the CEO tell someone to take photos off their desk once because they ruffled the CEO's feathers. The CEO does not "fire" anyone, he strongly encourages them to quit. He complains about Glassdoor on the Internet for pete's sake! Check out his Quillette articles and then see if this is the guy you really want to work with.
