Pros

Challenging work in fast paced environment. Must excel under change.

Cons

Very little to no regard for employees in IT. Senior MGT flat out lies to employees with very empty promises. Work there but don’t be to loyal it won’t be returned.

Pros

Being a small company there are many opportunities to engage with senior management. Found that personnel in operations, accounting, IT and engineering were extremely helpful and did not have a protectionist mentality.

Cons

Publicly traded company but most of the stock is owned by a single family who controls the direction of the company. It's a small company so there are lots of opportunities for advancement.

Pros

Amkor is strong in emerging technologies. There is real support for new projects, both in terms in human and financial capital. The tools required to complete projects are readily available or are made available. There is good synergy between most of the US and off-shore technology centers. A strong effort by managment is made to increase knowledge-sharing. Amkor also makes a strong effort to accommodate work-life issues. Time off is given for personal issues w/ no detriment to career advancement. Flexible hours are supported as long as projects are completed on time. You manage your own time, however meeting project schedules need to be maintained.

Cons

US manufacturing is approaching neglible levels. Practically everything thing is done in Asia. This creates some trepidation among the US engineering staff. On occasion there is a lack of synergy between US and Asian staffs on problem-solving, though this seems to be improving. There tends to be late/early hours in order to hold conference calls w/ Asian factories due to international time differences.
