Amplify's Demise

Pros

Some of the best tech people that I have worked with in years and a focus on the improvement of education in the US

Cons

Too many unqualified people in sales and product development and the Larry Berger's constant development change requests with absolutely no knowledge or caring of what it would take to implement the change killed moral and caused resources that should of been working on improvement and fixing of the existing product were trying to shoehorn in a management change request at the last minute that would just cause the software to fail in product. It is a real shame that the company has come to this especially after spending $400 million dollars on a product that can not be sold.

Pros

The people in the Alpharetta office are nice people to work with and some of the technology is cool. The benefits and salaries seem fair.

Cons

The management team has no ability to lead. The business priorities are upside down and there is no follow through.

Amplify has lost its groove

Pros

Digital Education is a great market to be in. There are some good folks here, and the teams mostly work well together.

Cons

Management is remote. They sit in NY, but actually they are on a different planet. They fly down once in a while to re-organize everything, and then forget to follow-up and follow through. The most unlikely people are promoted into decision making positions. It's hard to know in which direction the company is going, because information is not shared.
