Pros

Free soda, some of the lowly co-workers.

Cons

There was nothing good about my sentence, sorry experience, at Amplify. Management is TERRIBLE. They communicate nothing. A company sponsored outing mean one free drink for the first 30 people that show up, everyone else pays out of their pocket. It's a cheapskate company. There's no community at the job and everyone is very siloed. Benefits are expensive, time off is very minimal. Group managers are very competitive with each other and back stabbing is common.

Pros

Some people genuinely care about making a difference in education, and those people were a pleasure to work with. I think the CEO is good, but idk what happened to the rest of them down the management chain.

Cons

This company is a hot mess. Once the kids started going back to school and moving away from remote learning after the pandemic, this company began to lose money and started scrambling—mass layoffs, reorganization, etc. Engineering was constantly talking about OKRs and shifting priorities every quarter. During the course of a year, I was on THREE different software development teams. THREE!!! On top of that, most teams are understaffed and have a few people doing the amount of work that several people should be doing. Pay is on the lower end of the market, and work-life balance is horrible. Most people on my team worked 8+ hour days and sometimes dealt with on-call pager rotations after work.
