Pros

employees are amazing to work with, Product platform used by many Fortune 500 companies and has great growth prospects, unlimited time off, bonus plan being introduced in 2024, Talent Success team is amazing, as is the benefits team. Many new employee focused benefits introduced in 2022 and 2023. New CFO is great and has brought necessary financial discipline with spend.

Cons

Confused exec team that lacks clear strategy and direction, Many new members (feels like a revolving door of execs!) - this is the symptom of running to the market to be a public company first without clearly understanding what is necessary to be successful. There are talks about diversity and inclusion, but it is a joke. The exec team is full of tenured white people from the industry with no TMG representation. Huge gap between exec comp and employee comp. Company went through a restructuring in 2023, but the exec team still had huge equity grants in 2023 which is very disappointing!

Pros

- Great Product - Great opportunity to talk to amazing product teams in the tech industry - Talented people - Good pay

Cons

I would strongly advise against joining Amplitude. One of the core values of Amplitude is growth. However, this is the complete opposite of the truth in certain groups. It seems to be a practice to push people out of the business so they can hire from outside. At some level this is okay, however, when so many longstanding people leave or you have a revolving door of employees, it impedes your ability to grow and you lose good people. Certain leaders at our company are blatantly unethical and have had several complaints filed against them that have been ignored. One leader in particular seems to be protected and has no respect in the organization. Many find this person to be a detriment to the business. Many people at Amplitude stay because there is hope due to the strength of our product. However, many committed employees and cheerleaders of Amplitude are leaving because of the toxic work culture.

Pros

-Great pay -Great perks and benefits -Ground-level people you work with are generally very cool -Strong product

Cons

You need to watch your back here, especially if you are in a role that supports Sales (Rev Ops, Marketing, Enablement). Sales leaders drive the bus and will be very quick to blame people on these teams if they aren't meeting quota. If you're one who's in the crosshairs, GTM leaders will not wait long to cut you out (and you may not even realize you were on the target list in the first place). If you do survive that, it will probably be thanks to taking on more than you can handle and burning out within 2 years. Check out how many people in these roles are or were short-term employees; it's a pattern here. People take their paychecks and move on.
