Pros

The company offered great benefits, including health, dental, life insurance, and 401K contributions, etc. There was also a flexible work-from-home schedule, along with a stipend to support remote work. There were a few genuinely nice colleagues who were passionate about the industry and client work. The agency stayed up-to-date with industry trends, especially in SEO and AI advancements, and really remain on the cutting edge of practical applications in the field.

Cons

Over the last year+, the agency experienced multiple layoffs across different teams, and for years, employees were denied annual raises. Morale was consistently low, and opportunities for advancement were either nonexistent or not properly supported. Team communication was disastrously dysfunctional, with micromanagement being rampant. While many employees were skilled and experienced in the industry, they were often placed in roles that didn’t align with their strengths. Burnout was widespread across the company, affecting nearly everyone regardless of their client assignments. It was difficult to find your voice in an environment dominated by managers who struggled to relinquish control. What initially seemed like a promising workplace ultimately turned into a major disappointment. If you have the opportunity to seek employment elsewhere, it would be recommended.

Pros

It's a job u get paid for, benefits are decent, company sponsored lunches

Cons

Well expect to told u can't take days off the 1-4 of every month. Expect a lot of OT too. The department manager over lettershop micro manages EVERYTHING! As if coming in and dealing with outdated machinery isn't bad enough, u have to deal with a department manager that nitpicks about every little thing . Rather your machine runs bad and u fight all shift to run 10k pieces or u have a great shift and run 30k, nothing is good enough for him. He monitors every single break u take, watches cameras constantly, fusses about the smallest things BUT he can't actually run a machine himself so he complains about things he doesn't understand. He brings down the moral because he has a "holier than thou" attitude and he doesn't appreciate his team. If you're in desperate need of a job, then work here but don't stay long! Between the machines giving u the same issues everyday and dealing with helicopter management, you'll get burnt out quick!!

Work here if you value learning

Pros

If you value the following, then working at Amsive Digital is a good move for you: 1. You value learning. You're going to learn a lot. But, you need to have the drive to learn. This means doing industry reading on your own, working on getting certified in the various publishers, taking low cost and free courses whenever you can, etc. You're expected to know a lot and to learn quickly. If there's an area of the business you want to learn more of, be proactive in sitting on their team meetings. Working here will make you a very well rounded and analytical digital marketer, but you need to put in the work and have an interest in it, to be successful. 2. You're looking to become more analytical or you’re already very analytical and looking to flex that muscle. If you’re just starting out, Amsive will breed you to become a more analytical thinker. You’re expected to back performance up with hard data. Their clients are smart and business savvy, expectations are high. 3. Working in a highly collaborative environment with extremely intelligent and competent individuals. Majority of people here are multi faceted. They have the hard and soft skills. They’re business savvy and accountability is expected.

Cons

Cons are highly subjective. 1. Don’t work at an agency if you're looking for a stress-free job. Caveat - Amsive is a relatively smaller digital agency compared to some agency giants. So there might be more work/life balance at those bigger companies where you're just on one or two clients. Keep in mind, you're likely going to learn much more if you work for a smaller agency. You have to figure out what's most important for you. 2. Not all directors and people in management roles are trained to ask good questions that will help you grow. I think managers here try to lead by example and they work hard, but that doesn’t always translate to strong leadership. If you're early in your career, seek outside sources and support on the types of conversations you should be having with your manager. Such as, what motivates you, what do you value, what is your growth potential, what does growth trajectory look like. On the plus side, the company as a whole has gotten much more standardized in their review and promotion process. Don't be afraid to give feedback if you're experiencing what seems like not the best leadership style. Amsive is a place that welcomes feedback. 3. You will face some strong personalities - people who are extremely smart, strategic and analytical, but can come off as harsh or too direct. Seek out trusted peers or outside sources on how to manage these challenging conversations when they come up. Try to stay focused on learning and growing from these experiences vs. letting it just bring you down.
