Pros

Cons

Year end bonus is tied to somethings out of your control and usually means you wont get the max bonus each year.

Pros

-The benefits are pretty good, 401k match is phenominal. -Education reinbursement, student loan credit and Student loan forgiveness are all above industry standard. - Once you get into a positon that's a manager title, the bonuses are pretty decent. BUT, they are based on performance of many factors completely out of your control so it's a total gamble if you're going to get a bonus or not. - Amazing opportunity to learn the rail industry if you're willing. You can build a great long term career here off your experience, that can transfer into a consultant etc. later down the road. - RR Retirement is a major benefit.

Cons

-Executive leadership is, underwhelming. It's clear that no real leadership exists and that communication is poor between the groups. The current plan is to do everything without any sort of trade offs, which is unachieveable and compounds challanges. -Don't expect a decent raise, ever. The company holds fast to ~3% raises. Very few exceeds are given out above that, and even then it's marginally higher for most. The company also uses bands to evaluate your pay, and they "unofficially" like to keep everyone around the mid band. Meaning that you'll never make the top salary listed. BUT, they will hire people from the outside for more then the midband. It happens constantly. And then people leave or quiet quit. -There are so many online trainings required each year, it's kind of comical. It's just the same corperate nonsense over and over. I get it... but there are too many.
