      Good pay, benefits, health insurance, and job security

      Cons

      Upper management constantly trying to fire employees over mistakes. Work with ALOT of dumb people who extremely irresponsible and have no work drive or desire to lift a finger to help you. Your work schedule is constantly getting changed and you’re always shifted around from your home base work location unless you have a ton of seniority

      Amtrak employees are generally great, pay is reasonable, and the mission of providing passenger rail in the USA is important

      Cons

      Upper level management is disorganized, there are a lot of internal politics, and the C-suite is more concerned with complying with Trump than looking out for their employees. There are also very few opportunities for upward mobility. There as been an unofficial or official hiring freeze for almost a year and a half, and with the current admin, I can only imagine this getting worse. I would NOT recommend joining Amtrak if you value job security.
