Pros

The Building is state of the art. Good building security has a nice work-out facility and secure parking, Close to good eating places,

Cons

Management plays favorites and make your life miserable if you cross the wrong person Some coworkers are bullies and management choses to do nothing about but to sweep it under the rug. I believe that HR has NO experience in dealing with bulling Management is unconcerned/uncaring. Fee for all environment people are free to and say and do whatever they want: This not a fun place to work a very hostile environment. Run for the door!!!

Pros

-Good work/life balance; laid back office -Solid benefits -Good networking opportunities with vast amounts of carrier/agency relationships

Cons

-Minimal pay increases even with high inflation and hard market challenges. -Rarely hear from corporate (GST as they call it) - maybe once or twice a year from the CEO. Still have no clue what the RULs even do. -Brokers are managers, so the company expects them to not only be good at their jobs, but also be a good manager/team leader, and many simply are not. -Training not good. They expect assistants to train new hires & get them up to speed. -Some agents are hard to deal with.

Fun Until it's Not Fun

Pros

- Depending on your office leader, the occasional office event can be upscale and very enjoyable - If you don't like being micromanaged, this is the right kind of job. Most of the time, everyone around you is too busy to pay attention to your work. - Free snacks and drinks - Great Benefits

Cons

- It actually feels like a middle school at our office. People that hold high titles will spend a better part of their day gossiping behind closed doors. The Office Manager has this "wing-person/best friend" that will literally put her ear to the door of other people's meetings and report back to our branch manager with whatever information she can obtain about other employees. It's funny content for the show 'The Office', but it's disgusting to witness it in real life. - Your experience is almost entirely dependent on your team leader. This could be a pro, but for many, this is a major con. If you don't work for someone interested in growing others on their team, you will not go anywhere. - You're almost completely on your own starting Day 1. Hopefully you have a good teammate that will help you out the best they can. If not, good luck! - Pay is not good. I mean, it's not the worst, but you will often be the busiest person on the team if you are at the lowest position level. Given how hands-off AmWINS is, you are subject to whatever your superiors want to throw on you, regardless of whether or not it's in your job description. Don't fall into this trap of taking on too much responsibility. Everyone is a salesperson. They'll welcome any volunteers to take their work and will never look back to recognize you for it.
