Chaos and poorly managed

Pros

Free snacks, good location, product is decent I guess. Can't think of anything else honestly.

Cons

As many of the 1 or 2 star reviews suggest, Anaplan is a company built on deception of a 'great startup'. Anaplan is ruled as a dictatorship under the leader Emperor Fred Laluyaux, all departments and employees must kowtow to all his wishes and requests. All middle, C-level, and VP managers are weak, including the CTO who is intimidated and makes decisions at the behest of the Emperor. The Emperor always claims that Anaplan is a 'fast moving' and the 'culture is not for everyone' which is a great excuse for basically saying we have a really bad culture. The most fitting description of Anaplan can be summarized as 'chaos'. The company has a knack for inducing and stoking a chaotic work environment. Everything from lack of process, to backstabbing colleagues, and the BS that's constantly being promoted by HR and marketing. It's a very toxic work environment. Never experienced anything so toxic in my career. As previous reviews have mentioned, the emperor has been recruiting low-level SAP managers to serve his conquest as VPs and SVPs, so you'll often find that there are a lot of incompetent managers with lofty job titles and golden parachutes. If you like chaos and toxicity in a work environment. Anaplan is a great company for you! Also, this reviewer can confirm that HR did in-fact tell the company to write up faulty reviews of the company.

Pros

-Could work from home -Company is growing like crazy -Not really expected to work 50-60+ hour weeks like a lot of tech companies -Unlimited vacation policy that is actually respected (at least it was in my department)

Cons

-Promotions/team changes were not discussed with those moving before announcing it to the team, which I found to be really rude -Senior mgt has no time for their direct reports -Compensation is pretty low for tech -Recruiters will lie to you about benefits and career mobility -Very few people actually know how to use the software -Clique-ish culture -Disagreement about IPO status: most managers and recruiters say the company is headed that way, and the CEO said no..... which really sucks because a lot of the compensation package is equity -An insane amount of managers who all came from SAP and love meetings -People don't really eat lunch with each other, which I think is a terrible sign of the culture

Downhill in the blink of an eye

Pros

The people - well, it used to be the people but many good people have left or were let go.

Cons

Where do I begin? - The new executive team does not prioritize the employees. - The new executive team does not care about diversity, equity, inclusion or belonging. If DEIB or culture is important to you, do not apply to Anaplan. - The new executive team lacks transparency. For example, they implemented an extended leadership team via a nomination process but never announced the nomination period or criteria to employees. Another example is that the executive team changed the calculation/ratings system for employee bonuses but never introduced the employee community to the new rating system. As you can imagine, this resulted in employees receiving less bonus ( I am sure this was a tactic to save money). - Extremely chaotic working environment. There is very little alignment or direction at any level of leadership.
