Pros

co workers are great and it's remote

Cons

the product has been declining for years. It's hard to manage a product that has so many issues. The site always has issues as well.

Steady Engineering Work

Pros

Angi is a profitable, long-term company that offers a product with a concrete value proposition. If you're into terms like "burn rate" or 28-year-old CEOs, this isn't the place for you. If you like working for Directors who mark their territory daily, or with Principal Engineers who create unnecessary abstractions just to prove how smart they are, this probably isn't the place for you. If you like showing up to work, working on interesting engineering problems, and being held accountable for outcomes, you might be a good fit. Also, the pay is pretty good.

Cons

Angi was founded in the 90's, and we've got the legacy code to prove it. I think the team has done reasonably well updating it, but if you want to build new things from scratch, you might be a little frustrated. This kind of flows out to all aspects of the business. Angi's business model is set; you aren't going to be able to pitch some business-altering idea. You need to find creative ways to optimize the existing system. I think this would be a hard place to be a junior engineer. We have a lot of Senior, Staff, Principal level ICs, and I think you might have a hard time jumping in as a junior. It's got a very Netflix-ian 'senior-engineers-only' feel.

Pros

- There's a lot of money to be made here if you put in the work - Benefits are great - You can be fully remote or hybrid if you live near an office - Great work life balance, no over time so once it's 5:30 est, you are not expected to keep working.

Cons

Typical cons that come with sales jobs, have to be able to handle rejection
