Pros

Good training if you have no sales experience

Cons

This company doesnt care about anything other than their policy. There is no wiggle room these robotic policies and the robots that survive in this role dont do so for very long. Top performer? Doesnt matter, they dont care. This is the type of company that cares more about your camera being on, and not being late 2 minutes late, then they care if youre 300% to quota. All time off has to be submitted 2 weeks in advance, no exceptions. I've been in a lot of sales roles as a top performer, and this place is by far the worst place by FAR ive ever worked. Their stock prices are plummeting and theyre likely to go out of business soon. If you want to retain any shred of sanity in your life find any other job then this one.

Pros

WFH. Amazing employees who are under-appreciated

Cons

A high-up female executive of 9 years who was widely respected among the org was terminated as a result of an HR investigation into one her subordinates sexist misconduct. The rep in question actively preaches treating the contractors we work with poorly, and with contempt. This is a toxic attitude that proliferates the sales floor. The product does not work and you must lie about it. Well, not lie. Just say these legal department approved half-truths. But if you struggle to sell? It's not the company, it's your ability to be constantly, unflinchingly positive! They have done layoffs and lied to us about it. What is happening to the sales floor is essentially a quiet layoff. The only people who have any hope are new or have no moral or ethical compass. The base salary is not a living wage. You used to be able to make money here. But ever since some ill-advised changes as of 2023, most reps I work with have taken nearly a 50% pay cut. High pressure sales tactics. Old, beat up leads. I could go on. There is a reason their stock and profits are plunging.

Pros

Let's get to the cons, as that'll be more constructive. ✅ They're willing to "train" anyone with a pulse (and who can pass a background check) to be a sales rep @ Angi leads. ✅ You can work remotely at this position.

Cons

When you see the NEGATIVE reviews from former sales reps when it comes to working at Angi, PAY ATTENTION - they know what they're talking about. I took this job back in April 2023 and started in May 2023. It was the shortest time I was at a gig, as I left voluntarily. Why'd I leave? ❌ Found out the company was sued / fined by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to the tune of 7.2 MILLION USD. And this isn't 5/10 years ago - the deposition was done back in April 2023! Why? Deceptive business practices to contractors. It's public knowledge - Google it to learn more. ❌ The sales tactics are pushy: --- One-call-close. --- Reading from a script in which you're trying to steamroll over the customer to try to make a sale. --- Having a trainer on the line to feed you lines to say to elicit the desired responses from a contractor. ❌ You're not in control of your prospecting. --- The leads I had? I spent over 90% of my 1st week on the phones dialing and leaving voicemails for people...that never got back to me. --- Some of those leads were in the system as old as October / November 2022! Older reps had them, and they eventually got to me. ❌ You're not in control of if you make a sale: --- The contractor can fail to have the proper licensing. --- The contractor can fail the mandated background check. Work at a LEGIT sales organization - not this one, if you can help it. I get that times are tough, but THIS company ain't it, not unless they make some MAJOR changes.
