McLagan provides a fast-paced environment with rarely any dull moments. The firm is a fairly flat organization where team members at all employee levels partner together to bring the best solutions to clients whether through the firm's compensation surveys or consulting engagements. Working at the firm gives you the exposure to work on a variety of projects centered around pay and performance within the financial services industry.

Cons

Like any other consulting firm, the hours are not 9 to 5.

The training was second to none for benefits advisor postion. Paid licensing and certification.

Cons

Low commissions, low hourly, unrealistic appointment slots. No control over appointment scheduling. Most of the day besides during open enrollment you're just a CSR answering calls. Benefits are outrageously expensive given that this is an HR based company. In House opportunities are few and far between with low starting wages.
