Don’t do it

Pros

Great potential for bonus/commission pay. You COULD make more money than you’ve ever made, but it all depends on how long it takes you to get good accounts.

Cons

The most toxic culture I’ve ever experienced. Lasted 2 years here and had to call it quits. It all comes from the top. CEO is a brilliant person, but terrible leader. They promote work/life balance during the interview stage, but it’s all smoke and mirrors. Be prepared to get asked if you’re bringing your laptop and work phone when you’re requesting PTO. They are also extremely cut throat. They “coach out” before a new rep even has time to catch their stride. Micromanagement is also insane. Big brother is always watching. I’ve never felt more like a number in my life.

Great training program

Pros

I am new to apts.com but I have been impressed with their training program. They spend 5 weeks (and a great deal of money) showing you how to do your job. The benefits are amazing. The incentives are unbelievable too. While I was in training, they gave away a $100,000 Tesla to one of the sales people in the room. I like the freedom of setting your own schedule. There are also tons of career opportunities here. If you don't like Apts.com sales, you could possibly transition to CoStar research or LoopNet info. It's a huge company and they're growing quickly. I'm glad I got in when I did because the future seems bright.

Cons

Working on commission is always nerve wracking. That's the only con I have encountered so far. I understand why sales people are paid on commission but it's scary not knowing what your income will be from month to month.

Pros

good pay, professional work environment, costar has created a great network of products (including apartments.com), free snacks in break room.

Cons

Won't hire contractors (after 9+ months as a temp). no job security. workers quit/are fired, positions aren't back-filled. moral is really low and it is a struggle to provide customer service when issues seem to go on for months. it's not even poor communication between upper management down to the workers; it's straight up lies that middle management is forced to tell. too much secrecy.
