Pros

Your peers are very nice people. If there is one thing I can take about Appian is the friends I made there.

Cons

Everything else? Extremely long hours, it was common to work until 4 AM. No recognition on the things you do well, but you're punished for every stupid little mistake you make. There are no processes for anything, everything is a mess in the Engineering department. We always have to do last minute fixes and feature requests that the sales team sold. A few months ago they fired about a third of the workforce, including people that had been hired a month before. Management is the worst I've seen ever. They think they are God's gift to men, when they don't realize they have no people skills and no way of planning the correct product.

Pros

- Culture of middle/lower management - Relaxed workload

Cons

- Went from more apolitical to extremely political fast when the current CTO also become the CMO - Layoffs or "reorganisation" twice in 2 months is destroying employee morale and leading to voluntary resignations across the department.

Pros

They have a nice office space and friendly coworkers. Pay is also decent for the area.

Cons

They really don't encourage out-of-the-box thinking and want everyone to adhere to a narrow view of drinking the cool aid and never questioning things. Professional services is going down incredibly fast and no one seems to care. Anyone who wants a place to learn and grow should avoid Appian at all costs.
