Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are concerned to hear about the environment you have described and would value a discussion to learn more about your personal experience. We view feedback as a gift and would be thankful if you are willing to speak with me or your HR Business Partner directly about your experience. Pros

Corporate location is close to good happy hour/dinner options after hours

Cons

If you're a successful, seasoned salesperson: STAY AWAY. They micro-manage and give you so much busy work that you cannot sell effectively. For instance, they will fly you to regional office locations once a month to sit in a room and cold call with your colleagues. Yes, you all sit in the same room and cold call, talking over each other as if you are in a call center. The "pipeline" generated from these "Power Days" is all fake, its only a matter of time before execs realize it's all smoke and mirrors. They also like to tout a Software Guarantee, but yet ignore their legacy customers with issues and could care less about their failed implementations. Look elsewhere....

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. It is unfortunate to hear that you did not have the best experience during your time here at Appian. We certainly value and consider all feedback, and I am happy you mentioned the Appian Guarantee. We are excited about this new offering, as we see it as a way to not only take a more active role in explaining how to best use our software but to also showcase how our software can achieve its full potential.

Pros

Pays like a NYC or Bay Area company while being in Northern Virginia

Cons

* Alternative opinions are only valued so long you've curried the favor of your managers * The tons of recently graduated employees who don't know how not to be taken advantage of encourages a culture of "work harder not smarter" and sycophants. Drink the Kool Aid and play the game, and you'll be ok, I guess. * Specializing in their proprietary, in-house low-code solution means acquiring no transferable technical skills * No work/life balance means unless you give up your personal life, you're not going to be advancing

Thanks for your feedback and for noting our competitive compensation packages. I'm sorry you feel like your opinions weren't taken into consideration. That's certainly not the norm. As for skills transfer, if you learn Low Code development at Appian you are getting into a growing market and you will find your skills in demand and transferable. Of course you could learn Java or some other commodity skill but you'll do much worse in the labor market. As for work/life balance, many Appian consulting leaders have started or raised families here while advancing their careers. You can do the same.
