      A place of passion, opportunity, stress, smart people, and a great product

      Pros

      The people are very smart, motivated to do a great job, and happy to lend a hand to a fellow co-worker. Pay is good, and leadership is trying to improve. The product is interesting to work on and the future seems very interesting.

      Cons

      There is a disdain for "work-life balance". People are expected to put in long hours often; some of the management is trying to change this. The processes are confusing, and there this company observes the absolute bare minimum of holidays.

      Pros

      * There are some really good engineers, from which you can learn, have smart interactions, and produce something good. * You can make some good friendships, since the group is small and, for good or bad, you're going to spend a lot of time in the office together.

      Cons

      * Sadly not most of the people is top notch, although considering the company size and the area, the company is really lucky to have the good engineers they have. * No real growth after certain level is reached. Everybody starts becoming a director or VP, which is starting to become a joke. * Engineering is very undervalued, since in the eyes of the execs (even if they don't accept it), it doesn't produce money (like professional services does). * CEO holds back the company because of fears, either founded or not, of loosing control.

      Pros

      Great salary, benefits, company perks. Smart people. Opportunities for learning. Growing company. Very transparent.

      Cons

      For professional services, the type of project you are on determines your happiness working with the company. Luckily, most projects are short term, so if you are on a terrible project, chances are that it will end soon. However, if you are on a long term terrible project...well...good luck.
