Pros

- People are generally nice - Nice Vancouver office located near waterfront - Comprehensive extended health benefits - Remote work - Work from home allowance

Cons

- As many have pointed out here, there is definitely growing pains given the rapid amount of acquisitions in the last two years. - For a tech company, the company certainly doesn't run like a tech company. Most of the software used are outdated and processes are very manual and inefficient. - There is a lack of communication within the company. Rather than commuting and being transparent, the leadership and management assumes people 'just know'. - Work life balance doesn't exists here. As the company continues to grow, and employees leave. The positions don't get back-filled and advocating for new hires can be difficult. Leaving current staff overloaded. - Compensation is not competitive and annual raises are minimal - Lack of career growth. The company has advocated career growth. However the actual tasks and work experience seems to be pretty entry level and don't align with the job listing. You can be hired for one thing but end up doing something not related to what you were originally hired for - The company seems to be hiring a lot more top level positions. When clearly other positions should be filled first. - The company seems good on paper and will say things that sound promising, however once you are 4 months in you'll realize it was all for optics and cant help but feel like you were bait and switched - No employee stock options for new employees. Typically one of the major benefits of working at a tech company is stock option benefits. Don't expect any here. - Lack of support from management and not a lot of autonomy in how you do your job

PDFTron used to be a unique company with the potential to become a unicorn.

Pros

There are still some legacy employees. They are the core values of the product. Good memories that we worked so hard and devoted to making good products.

Cons

The company seems like a sinking boat. The new management does not care about the products and the customers who love the products. Maybe the new management is good at selling companies but the products.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and providing feedback on your experience with Apryse (formerly PDFTron). We understand your concerns about the company's direction and the perceived lack of focus on product quality and customer satisfaction. We assure you that we take all feedback seriously and are committed to addressing these issues. While change can sometimes be difficult, we continually strive to improve and adapt to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Your suggestion of bringing back the founders is noted, and we understand the sentiment behind it. However, as the company grows and evolves, it's essential to balance preserving the original vision and bringing fresh perspectives to drive innovation and growth. We are actively working to bridge this gap and ensure that our management team understands and respects the values that underpin our products. Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and we want to thank you for your 6+ years of commitment and dedication to our company. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Rachelle Carpenter Chief People Officer

Pros

-Good downtown location -Like to do social events

Cons

-Poor benefits plan -Toxic bullying culture of cliques, public shaming, and finger pointing -Inexperienced and out of touch leadership -Lie after lie -"Everyone is in charge" structure means duplicated efforts and in-fighting about who should work on what and who's way is better -Lack of trust and support -Micromanagement -Speak about transparency of information and "connected company" but do not communicate well and so the left hand never knows what the right is doing -Claims to offer strong work/life balance but always make you feel like you can never put in enough hours and loads you up with so much work that even if you work 80+ hours a week it goes unrecognized and is never good enough -Purposefully vague (e.g. you can have paid sick time, but we won't tell you a set number of days, and if we FEEL like you're taking too much time, you'll be in trouble)
